VAL-D’ISÈRE
Where the mountain and nature come alive

Val-d’Isère is a jewel in the heart of Savoie, gleaming at the summit of the Haute-Tarentaise valley. Perched at 1,850 metres above sea level, this internationally renowned mountain village has managed to retain its original soul. This charming spot is home to an array of distinctive architectural delights, such as traditional chalets and an 11th-century baroque church.

Wedding authenticity and dynamism, the historic town centre and main street have a plentiful supply of stores and buoyant bars, plus copious restaurants serving local specialties.

But the fun really starts on the ski slopes, where a giddiness is generated that spreads all the way to the town centre, the hub of night-time thrills in Val d’Isère with lots of pubs where the hippest DJs perform live sets.

The town’s ample leisure facilities include a swimming centre, while a conference centre also keeps the town bustling. Tucked in an idyllic setting, this unique place has a wonderful buzz in summer and winter alike.

One of the biggest ski areas in the Alps

From November to May, the Val-d’Isère-Tignes (formerly the Killy space) ski area enjoys exceptional snow cover, providing a 300km (or 10,000 hectares) playground of marked slopes with a 1,900-metres difference in altitude, as well as a world famous off-piste area. Since 1955, the Critérium des Premières Neiges competition has been run from the resort and stood as testament to its singular
climatic conditions. This essential event of the Ski World Cup enhances Val d’Isère’s identity as a town deeply committed to sport.

Vanoise National Park serves as a showcase

Val-d’Isère basks in an environment awash with natural splendour. Not only is its flora and fauna marvellous, but the area is adorned with massifs full of lakes and streams. In the summer it plays host to a wealth of thrilling pursuits, such as
climbing, mountain biking, fishing, hiking and much more.

LA LEGETAZ
Little white paradise

Ten minutes from the town centre and very close to the slopes, La Legettaz sits in a spot highly sought-after by skiers and mountain lovers, offering a truly uplifting atmosphere. Here, amid wonderful natural surrounds, Le Chardon unveils its traditional architecture. These majestic chalets with sculpted balconies blend larch wood and stone in a distinctively Val-d’Isère spirit.

Thanks to the chalets’ location at the edge of the wooded highlands and the ski area, residents can simply put on their skis and head out to the slopes. And they can reach the centre of Val-d’Isère in just a few minutes using either the free shuttle or the foot trail.

The development of this new residential complex has added fresh lustre to La Legettaz, which now enjoys hamlet status.
